2. Travel
On foot: In district 1, there are many attraction places to visit which are not very far from each other. So, this is really a best way. Visitors can find these places of district 1 at "Ho Chi Minh attractions".

By bus: Only about $0.3/ticket for a person (VND4000~5000 price based on 2011), a visitor can travel as far as 15km. A visitor must know the number of the bus that he or she want to take and its route as well. If a visitor does not know its route, he or she had better not to use this mean to travel. Visitors can find the biggest bus station to everywhere which is across the roundabout from Ben Thanh Market.
By xe om (motorbike taxis, pronounced "sae ohm"): Visitors can go 10 km with only $5/a person (price based on Ho Chi Minh City Visitor information of 2011). Xe om driver can speak some English. Visitors can tell them where to go or it is better to show them the address. The latter is the better.
By taxi: All taxis are metered and the price is not very expensive. About $0.7/1km (price based on Ho Chi Minh City Visitor information of 2011).
By cyclo (pedicab): They are slow and uncomfortable, but they give visitors good feeling and good experience for the visit to Ho Chi Minh city. Visitors can easily be in harmony with the city people flow when using this mean. A cyclo can carry only one person at a time.

3.1. Tour of Saigon
With tour of Saigon, international tourists can find Ho Chi Minh attractions that are not far from each other and therefore visitors can visit them on foot. Most of these notable sights are in District 1.

3.2. Places in Ho Chi Minh city
Places following are Ho Chi MInh attractions destinations that visitors can visit; however, they are far from the downtown. Visitors can go by some means of transportation or should book a trip to there at tourist agancies, most of which are in Pham Ngu Lao street - De Tham street area. The area is a favorite of packbacked international tourists.


*The Cu Chi Tunnels are an immense network of connecting tunnels that underlie the ground. During Vietnam war, Cu Chi Tunnels were location of several military campaigns. The tunnels were used as hiding spot, supply routes, hospitals, food and weapon caches. This is really an interesting attraction place of Ho Chi Minh city.

*Cu Chi district is a rural one (Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Visitor information of 2011). The distant from Saigon (district1) to The Cu Chi Tunnels is 70 kilometers.


3.2.2 The center of the Cao Dai religion

*Address: in the neighbor province Tay Ninh 100km far from Saigon to the Northwest.
*This place is considered as Cao Dai religion headquarter. Cao Dai religion (also called Caodaism) is originated in Vietnam.

3.3.3 Vinh Nghiem pagoda

*Address: 339 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, District 3, Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam
*Sanctum is the wooden carving works of the 1960s. Quan Yin tower is on the left, 7 roof-floors, 35m high, square 6mx6m, the tower top called Long Xa. This is the biggest tower of Buddism in Vietnam.



3.3.4 Dam Sen Park
* Address: 03 Hoa Binh street, Ward 3, District 11, Ho Chi Minh city.
Dam Sen Park was situated in the central city, 6 km from Ben Thanh market to the west.
* Dam Sen park is one of the largest and modern parks of the country with the area of 50 ha. 60% of the area is green of trees and flowers, 20% is covered by the lake. Dam Sen park becomes a green oasis in the heart of the city.




3.3.5 Suoi Tien Park

* Address: Suoi Tien park is located in District 9, Ho Chi Minh city; 15 km from Ben Thanh market to the northeast.
* This is a modern park with special architecture styles associated with the images of history and tradition of Vietnam, such as Lac Long Quan - Au Co (the first legendary father and mother of Vietnam peoples), Son Tinh Thuy Tinh (two popular characters of Vietnamese legend), 9 floors of the Hell... This amusement and entertainment park attracts a very large amount tourists from Ho Chi Minh cities and many other provinces of the country.


3.3.6 Dai Nam Park

Address: Dai Nam Park is located in Thu Dau Mot town, Binh Duong province; 30 km from Saigon to the North.
Dai Nam Park is an amusement and entertainment park with the area 261 ha. In Dai Nam park, we can find sea, lake, river, mountain and wall to describe the beauty Vietnam in general and the fascination of Dai Nam park in particular. The most impressive are Dai Nam Quoc Tu pagoda and Bao Son mountain.
