Welcome to learn Vietnamese language through songs. http://fotoget.blogspot.com would like to teach you Vietnamese language through songs. You are new to Vietnamese language? Do not worry. We are trying to teach you little by little so that you can understand and use some Vietnamese words. Are you ready to learn? If yes, please play the clip on youtube.com to enjoy a Vietnamese song first. In the clip, the lyric is displayed on screen. However, do not pay attention to the lyric because you cannot understand anything. Just enjoy the music. After enjoying the song, get into the lessons that written below the clip.

Read the lyric translation of this song.

Now you have already listened to the song. It is a good song, isn't it? In fact, this song is a new song that young Vietnamese people like very much in 2012. It is also a film-music of a very famous Vietnamese TV series film on television.

Lesson 1.

Above is a photo from the clip above. There are some words on it. I would like to write them down and give you some understanding about those words.

Ngỡ
sáng tác: Khắc Việt
trình bày: Quang Hà / diễn viên: Giáng Mi

If you are new to Vietnamese language, you cannot speak out or read those words and you are not customed to Vietnamese alphabets. Do not worry at this time. Just try to understand what they mean. It is not important at this moment that you cannot write or say out those words. We will learn them well in some later lessons.

1.a
Ngỡ is the title of the song. At this time you shouldn't worry much about what the title song means. Just know that it is the title.

1.b
sáng tác: Khắc Việt
(composer: Khắc Việt)

sáng tác = to compose (sáng tác is a verb)
người sáng tác = composer
Khắc Việt = the name of the composer of the song. Do not pay much attention on Khắc Việt at this time. Just know it is a Vietnamese name.

I am sure you will have a question why  "sáng tác: Khắc Việt" is used here. Why not "người sáng tác: Khắc Việt"? Although "người sáng tác" means composer and "sáng tác" is only a verb meaning to compose, "người sáng tác: Khắc Việt" and "sáng tác: Khắc Việt" are both right. However, Vietnamese people rarely use "người sáng tác: Khắc Việt". Please note this.

1.c
trình bày: Quang Hà
(performer: Quang Hà)

trình bày = to perform (trình bày is a verb)
người trình bày = performer
Quang Hà is the name of the performer.

The performer in this clip means the singer who sings this song.
Similarily, "trình bày: Quang Hà" and "người trình bày: Quang Hà" are both correct. However, Vietnamese people prefer "trình bày: Quang Hà" although "trình bày" is to perform, not performer.

1.d
diễn viên: Giáng Mi
(actress: Giáng Mi)

diễn viên = actor, actress, actors (diễn viên is a noun, not a verb any more)
Giáng Mi = a female name (the name of the actress in the clip)
This time, Vietnamese people use a noun. In fact, to introduce actors, Vietnamese people use a noun. Please note this. I think you are having a big question why. But I am not going to give the answer to make it complicated in this lesson. Just try to bear in mind. Thank you.

1.e Review
In the lesson 1, you have learned how to introduce a clip in Vietnamese language. We are not going to teach you Vietnamese alphabet and neither do we teach you pronounce any words in beginning lessons. Because they are so boring. Take time and enjoy learning through some sentences in this song first. Try to mimic singing to the singer in the song and have fun. Lesson 2 will continue to look into the clip Ngỡ.
